The Way of Love

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

When I was an infant at my mother's breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.

We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!

But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.

Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose Worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom:
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
–William Shakespeare

Dream Beauty

You float in the garden of my dream like a princess
In a twilight barefooted still, picking Jasmines and Rijels
In silver and marmalade blooms
Scattered fresh in dew that damps
your silky gown of pearly linen

You breath the breeze of enchanting fragrance
Turning your face carelessly towards the fountain of mist
Like a Juliet wondering where is my beloved -- a reality of me
You paints a smile and it melts my heart away

You gazed upon the sleepy skies
There rainbows and butterflies flows through your graceful space of Eden
I could still see the soft air that runs through your hair
Like a caress of a prince you hardly notice

You wave like goodbyes to the chants of Dirymples and Lamperines
A lover's luck if cupid hears it sings
Walking over the greens of moss and the early drop of velvet petals
That cushions the flat upon your feet
As you run slowly towards the rising sun breaking on the horizon

Now back to the journey of my dream -- unfolded to end
I wish this enchanted ambiance of beauty and stillness
Would carry me through the realms of reality
Withering the heartaches of innocence
Now slowly fading away into the inapproachable light
Somewhere in my consciousness, still half awake
The sunshine stole my princess away

Love Cycle

Love born like a bud
Grows like a tree
Blooms like a flower
Bears like a mountain
Fights like a hero
Flows like a river
Glows like dew
Fades like a rainbow
Dies like forever

Wisdom of Love

I’m in love oh my heart
Share me your wisdom to confess
How wonderful you are

Teach me oh my heart
The way you conquer sin
So I could speak love
In utmost purity

Reminds me oh my heart
Not to be jealous
Rather be generous
The way you give life

Bless me oh my heart
To reach out
Not by your cupid bow
But by love

I love her oh my heart
With all my life
Tame not her beauty
but her love
